May 19, 2016 | Leave a comment After yet another full day of studying the world of Zaleria in the Legolian Library, Melora discovers a vague reference to a hidden place called the Arcane Academy in one of her history books. Intrigued, she asks Caretaker Cecil about this place and he informs her that the Academy is, in fact, real and that only the strongest magic users are admitted within its halls. Wondering if she’ll ever be able to attend, Cecil smiles and encourages her to seek admittance to the Academy whenever she feels ready. As she prepares to leave the Library, Cecil presents her with a magic staff to aid her on her journey. Clutching her new weapon, Melora takes one last look at her childhood home and embarks on her quest. At noon, a boat arrives at the docks in the Kingdom of Gregoria and a young man disembarks after a long journey. The people he meets are friendly enough, though odd, and soon the man begins to ask the people he encounters what other settlements are nearby. They tell him that the nearest place is the mining town to the northwest, past the Legolian Library. Bowing out of respect, Joren thanks the strangers for their assistance and, with his few meager possessions, sets off for the city of Ebon Hold. At the edge of Fenwylde Forest in the town of Woodhaven, Lorec is called to speak with Elder Kalian, the leader of his people. The Elder beckons Lorec to sit with him and listen to his request. Kalian has become aware of a group of refugees who require aid in the forest to the south. He is entrusting this mission to Lorec because he fears the rest of their half-elf brethren might not be so accommodating if they were to encounter the group without some formal introductions being made. He asks Lorec to journey the edge of the south forest and rendezvous with an elven envoy from the Wayward Woods of Evaron. From there, he will accompany her to a meeting with the leader of the refugees, Korvak, and offer whatever aid he can. Lorec agrees to be Kalian’s liason to the elven ambassador and makes haste to meet with the person he is supposed to escort to Korvak. Meanwhile, deep in the Wayward Woods of Evaron, a young priestess called Areya is summoned to speak with Thalion, the King of the Elves. The neophyte cleric is told by the King that she is being sent on a mission of great importance. The King dreamed in the night of a terrible plague on the continent of Legolia that threatens to spread across the world. In his vision he was told by their deity, Andarius the Lightmaker, that Areya was the one chosen to stop this plague. She is given a Sacred Gem of Andarius, bestowed only upon clerics of the highest order, as well as a Mirror of Messaging to aid her on her journey. Over the objections of some high ranking members of the Elder Council, and with barely any time to protest, the court wizards abruptly teleport her far away at the King’s command! She soon finds herself wandering around the outskirts of Woodhaven, near the southern forest. Visit us on Patreon to join the adventure!
