February 24, 2017 | Leave a comment The four newcomers approach the town square and make quite the entrance! With a flourish, the wizard waves his hands and a red stage appears out of thin air, much to the delight of the townsfolk. They take the stage to introduce themselves and the first to speak is Septimus, the half elf cleric. He addresses the crowd with a blessing and states their good intentions, giving the people a sense of his piety and righteousness and immediately endearing him to the public. The next to greet the town is Marlowe, the human wizard. He speaks of how they have arrived to investigate strange occurrences in the area, punctuating each sentence with sparks and flames, mystifying the adults and delighting the children. After Marlowe is Orlan, the human ranger, who assures the people that they will be self sufficient and not cause any trouble, which leads to the last member of their party… Manok, the half-orc. He doesn’t speak. With the introductions out of the way, Septimus and his team retire to the inn, citing fatigue after their long journey. Joren and Melora spend the day gathering various supplies and provisions for their journey to investigate the forest, while Lorec and Areya attempt to speak with the new arrivals in the inn. Lorec doesn’t have much luck in the inn, but does manage to find out from the innkeeper that the strangers arrived by ship from the town of Stillwater, on the continent of Evaron to the north. Areya, on the other hand, manages to catch Septimus praying alone in a quiet corner of the inn. Not wishing to disturb him, she turns to leave but he motions for her to join him. With mutual respect, they worship their separate deities in silence for hours, beginning a profoundly spiritual friendship. Visit us on Patreon to join the adventure!
