Despite this setback, the young sorceress begins to display a newfound confidence in her abilities as they continue to grow in strength! Certain she will gain admittance to the Arcane Academy, Melora rejoins her comrades on the road with a spring in her step. As the winding road north approaches the edge of Fenwylde Forest, the heroes begin to hear a horrific cackle emanate from nearby! They spot a witch holding a spider as red as blood, gesturing toward them and muttering some incantations, when suddenly two giant spiders materialize from thin air! The crone postures and gloats about how the team will soon meet the same fate as the fools that were captured earlier, quickly disappearing before their eyes! After destroying her arachnid minions, the adventurers quickly surmise that the witch might have been referring to Septimus and their other lost companions!
