The tracks they follow are faint, but it soon leads the team to an old trail deeper into the forest. As the day grows longer and the trail suddenly ends, the heroes begin to lose hope of ever finding the missing cleric. The forest is vast and the chances of Septimus surviving for over a week on his own seem slim, casting further doubt on their ability to find him after such a long and fruitless search. Without giving up, the adventurers decide to continue on their journey for another day in the belief that a new day will bring a fresh perspective!
Picking up another set of fading tracks, Lorec unwittingly leads the team straight into a pair of unhappy orcs who ready their weapons and attack the team without hesitation! The battle is brief, but the orcs are defeated without causing too much of a ruckus. Not long after, the four travelers set up camp for the night to regroup before continuing their quest in the early light of morning.
