September 30, 2016 | Leave a comment In no time Joren and Melora talk to Havlim, the town magistrate, about the problem in the mines. Apparently, there are some overly aggressive enormous rats that are deterring the miners from digging ore and it’s cutting into the magistrate’s profit margins. He wants the problem taken care of immediately and offers the duo a hefty sum of gold. As they head off to the mine, Areya and Lorec ride into town and ask to speak with the person in charge. Havlim, sensing that the two elf-folk want information that he has, offers them a trade. He will answer their questions… if they take care of a little problem he has. He tells them about the rats in the mine and offers them less gold than he promised to the two humans and, after some minor deliberation, Areya and Lorec agree. Once in the mine, the foursome meet up, but the introductions are cut short as a pack of ferocious dire rats appear! Fangs bared and frothing at the mouth, the rats leap at their prey and attack!
